===========================================================================================
- Allows you to tone down or remove the death screams of players and bots.
- The type of sound level to choose is one of DEATHCRY_None, DEATHCRY_Low, or DEATHCRY_Normal.
- The default value is DEATHCRY_Low.
== SERVER ==
If you want the sound value to be other than Low, open the medDeathScreamDampener.ini file, and
for the ServerDeathCryType setting, change the DEATHCRY_Low value to DEATHCRY_None (or you could
set it to DEATHCRY_Normal, but then there is really no point in running this mutator).
Note that if you were to open the medDeathScreamDampener.ini after running the mutator once,
a LocalDeathCryType variable will appear. Don't bother trying to assign anything to it, the server
will not use it, it is for the client.
Once you have chosen and saved your setting, add these files to the System directory:
medDeathScreamDampener111.int
medDeathScreamDampener111.u
medDeathScreamDampener.ini
You then need to add this line to the [Engine.GameEngine] section of your UnrealTournament.ini file:
ServerPackages=medDeathScreamDampener111
== COMMAND LINE ==
Add mutator=medDeathScreamDampener111.medDeathScreamDampener to your command line parameter list.
== CLIENT ==
The player who joins will mostly have to hear what the server has specified. But if they really want
to hear a different sound level for just themself, they can do this:
- Join the server running the mutator for a few seconds, then disconnect.
- Go to the System folder, and find and open the medDeathScreamDampener.ini file.
- Change the value of the LocalDeathCryType to one of DEATHCRY_None, DEATHCRY_Low, or DEATHCRY_Normal.
Note that the player will be able to see the ServerDeathCryType variable in
there, but setting a value for it will have no effect on the server's value.
